first_imgBrace yourself for some traffic woes this week. The traffic police plan to conduct lane reservation trials for the Commonwealth Games during the morning and evening rush hours, starting on Monday.Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic), said the trials on the four stretches will be held between 4 and 6 pm on Monday, and between 8 and 10 am on Tuesday. The affected routes are: Ring Road from Chandgi Ram Akhara to Mall Road, Ring Road crossing to Gazipur crossing on NH-24, Ma Anand Mai Marg at Kalkaji to Dr Karni Singh Stadium on Surajkund Road via MG Road and Panchsheel Marg-Sardar Patel Road intersection to Mother Teresa Crescent Road up to the RML hospital.Traffic personnel have warned that the trial could cause slow movement of vehicles on arterial roads which fall on the stretch. While the police have already held trials on five days this month, this is the first time that the trials will be conducted during the morning and evening rush hours. The exclusive lanes for the Games will come into effect from September 20.last_img
