PACOIMA – A heavy-duty truck jack-knifed into two cars on the Golden State Freeway on Monday, killing one man and critically injuring a woman, officials said. The truck, which was pulling a trailer, lost control about 9:45 a.m., officials said. It swerved to the left, slamming into a white Chevrolet Caprice and a black Lincoln Town Car. An elderly man riding in the passenger seat of the Caprice diet at the scene, CHP Officer Chris Kracraft said. An elderly woman driving the Caprice was transported to Providence/Holy Cross Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition. Their names were not released.
