The Councillors will be kept firmly on their toes as over 250 children from across the county will attend the Christmas extravaganza on Tuesday 8th December in the Radisson Blu Hotel.Since beginning in 2011, the Donegal County Childcare appeal has raised over €62,000 in donations as well as an immeasurable quantity of toys to ensure the magic of Christmas is preserved for young children across County Donegal. In addition to the main appeal this year, the team at Donegal Childcare have decided to mark the end of the Presents for Percy Appeal by throwing ‘A Party for Percy!’A competition has been running in recent weeks for Donegal’s early childhood services where children won ‘Golden Tickets’ to attend the event. Tickets were also distributed to organisations working with children with disabilities and all together almost 250 children and their parents will attend this unique event. The party will host international storyteller Liz Weir, Puppet shows, Dance and movement, arts and creativity, balloon modelling and much more.Avril McMonagle, Manager of Donegal County Childcare said ‘the party event would not have been possible but for the generosity of local businesses. Cooney’s Home and Garden are kindly kitting out a winter wonderland Santa’s Grotto, Clive Wasson will be on hand to take photographs and students of Loreto Convent will act as helpers on the day.
