first_img1 Everton manager Roberto Martinez has declared John Stones will not be leaving the club during the transfer window period. The England centre-back has been the subject of intense speculation over a move to Chelsea, with the Blues launching three big-money bids in attempt to land the young England international, with the most recent reportedly close to £30million.But the Toffees are adamant the 21-year-old will not be leaving Merseyside this summer and will continue his rapid development at Goodison Park.“I have said before the player is not for sale and that is the end of it,” Martinez told the media at the club’s Finch Farm training headquarters.“Our situation has been very clear from the beginning. We are not a selling club who will lose our best performers.“His performance at the weekend was very strong and for a young man to come up with that leadership is a real sign of what he is as a footballer.“He is very important player for us and we are looking forward to seeing the best of John over the next few seasons, not just the next few weeks.” Everton defender John Stones last_img
