Deferred judgment, probation for Mitchell County man on serious injury by vehicle charge

first_imgOSAGE — A Mitchell County man charged after a crash that seriously injured a Minnesota man has received probation after pleading guilty. 24-year-old Dylan Henaman of McIntire was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control on a curve of 430th Street near Quail Avenue on August 10th of last year. The vehicle went into the north ditch, with it winding up on its roof in the Little Cedar River. Prosecutors claim Henaman was intoxicated at the time of the crash.  23-year-old Tyler Kiefer of Rochester was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Henaman had pleaded not guilty to two counts of serious injury by vehicle. He entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors and received a deferred judgment on one count of serious injury by vehicle. District Judge DeDra Schroeder sentenced Henaman on Tuesday to five years probation and a $750 civil penalty, which was suspended.last_img
