Hempstead Shooting Leaves Man, 34, Dead

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A 34-year-old man was who was shot in Hempstead nearly two weeks ago died six days later, Nassau County police said in a wanted poster released Tuesday, 12 days after the shooting.Andre Bell was suffering from gunshot wounds to the head when he was found in a vehicle near the corner of Kennedy and Harold avenues at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, according to the Crime Stoppers-issued flyer seeking tips in the case.The victim died of his injuries on Aug. 20, police said. Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the case as a murder.Nassau police did not issue a news release to alert the media and the public about the shooting death before investigators released the poster seeking tips to help solve the case.A police spokesman said that there was no additional information available regarding the investigation.Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information about the person responsible is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477), or Homicide Squad detectives at 516-573-7788.last_img
